- I had exactly this problem; a quick look with SnoopDos revealed that much
- of the time is taken up opening font files. In particular, the program
- uses scalable fonts if you've got them.

- If you look at the fonts options requester to check which sizes AWeb
- wants, then you can either change them to the sizes you've got, or create
- some bitmaps of the correct size with Intellifont. It doesn't fix the
- problem completely, but it certainly speeds things up a lot!
